Prioritization process

Defining a process for prioritization is the first task. There are four steps in a typical prioritization process:

  1. Identify prioritization methods and tools.
  2. Define format and venue.
  3. Engage participants.
  4. Conduct prioritization.

Many prioritization methods and tools exist: multi-voting technique, strategy grids, nominal group technique, the Hanlon Method, or prioritization matrices (see NACCHO Guide to Prioritization Techniques for instructions on these methods).
