Engage partners: overview
Partner engagement is essential to data modernization success at every health department. It boils down to three steps:
- Identify partners.
- Plan partner communication by determining what data modernization information each partner needs and how they would prefer to receive it.
- Conduct outreach (e.g., send emails, prepare presentations, schedule meetings).
Engaging with partners is complex; much of the communication will be about overcoming hurdles within the health department and receiving buy-in to spend resources upfront for a reward that is not yet seen. The steps identified below are not meant to be an exhaustive list of how to engage partners, but rather a starting place to get moving in the right direction.
