What is a value case?
A value case (also referred to as a business case) is the single most important document in helping leadership and management understand the value of an investment or business opportunity. An effective value case is a multipurpose document that generates the support, participation and leadership commitment required to transform an idea into reality.
A value case provides justification for undertaking a project by evaluating the benefit, cost and risk of alternative options and provides a rationale for the preferred solution. Concrete examples of data and information systems that are currently hindering public health practice within the health department should be included.v
