The role of data in the fight against NTDs

Imagine living your life struggling under a debilitating illness that restricts movement, causes agonizing pain or even leaves you blind. Now imagine doing so knowing that your disease is preventable, and that the treatment that would restore your health and function costs less than $5. This is the reality for many people who live with one of the 17 neglected tropical diseases.

I’m so gratified to be part of a team working toward a solution of elimination, eradication and control of these devastating illnesses! In the video below, I provide an overview of the Neglected Tropical Disease Scorecard project, a collaborative effort of PHII and Sightsavers conducted under a Gates Foundation grant.
