PHII worked in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) on an initiative focused on building strategies to modernize public health data and infrastructure. Together with several key partners, we developed recommendations that highlight initial steps to transform the public health system into one that is equitable and can be effectively used to monitor, respond and improve health and well-being. The recommendations are presented in three formats: as a white paper, as talking points and as an article published in the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice. Together, these materials provide a strategy to guide public health professionals at all levels through successful data modernization.
