The IIS manager is responsible for leading a team to carry out all operations of the IIS. Key responsibilities include hiring and supervising staff; managing the IIS vendor and working with the information technology (IT) department to ensure development, maintenance and security of the system; promoting participation of immunizing providers and other partners in the IIS; ensuring high quality IIS data; promoting authorized use of IIS data and functions; ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, policies and standards; and fulfilling the IIS-related requirements of the jurisdiction’s immunization program and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
