Biography

Vijay Pathangi serves as the IIS project team lead at PHII. Prior to joining PHII, Vijay worked with the Indiana Department of Health for 18 years, where he supported several program areas including COVID-19, immunizations, WIC, childhood lead poisoning prevention, tuberculosis and newborn screening, among others, in a variety of roles. In his last assignment, he served for nine years as the IIS Manager overseeing all IIS operations for the Indiana Department of Health. He also served as the COVID-19 technical project manager and was responsible for leading and supporting ongoing COVID-19 vaccination and outreach projects undertaken by the state of Indiana. In his role as the senior technical lead with the childhood lead poisoning prevention program, he was recognized with the IKE (Improving Kid’s Environment) award for his outstanding work developing IT systems to help and treat children poisoned with lead in Indiana.

Vijay holds a master’s degree in health informatics from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis and a bachelor’s degree in instrumentation and control engineering from the University of Madras.
