Wais is responsible for leading efforts to ensure that information systems support enterprise mission and objectives for the CHAMPS project. He is also responsible for coordinating the development of technology plans and strategies.
Prior to joining PHII, Wais served as the team leader for business and economic development focusing on public/private partnerships and implemented IT infrastructure on a USAID-funded project in southern Afghan municipalities. As the principal program advisor, he led a team to implement a sustainable solar-powered water purification system in rural Afghanistan preventing waterborne diseases in children.
At McKesson, he implemented a medical claims processing system as the IT director. This rule-based, HIPAA compliant system was processing over 15 million medical claims, patient statements and collection letters per month. In this role, he also built an informatics data warehouse integrated with Geographical Information System (GIS) for disease tracking and surveillance.
Wais also held positions as the systems architect and programmer analyst for the Georgia Hospital Association, Bausch & Lomb, and Zep Corporation.
Wais received his Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Georgia State University.
