As the communications director for the Public Health Informatics Institute (PHII), Jessica Cook oversees the development of resources and tools for the public health workforce. She also develops and implements strategic, integrated communications and marketing plans for PHII and PHII’s Informatics Academy.
Jessica has over 15 years of marketing and communications experience in the fields of education, business, and the arts. Prior to joining PHII, Jessica worked at Emory University’s Center for Creativity & Arts, and oversaw communications strategies for the performing, visual and literary arts on the Emory campus. Jessica has extensive experience promoting events, with proven success in increasing registrations and expanding audiences for both conferences and online courses. She has experience translating technical information to broad audiences, and has produced feature articles, digital content, complex print pieces, videos and more. In addition, Jessica taught middle school and high school English for five years.
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin. She has also studied visual art and design.
